Its AMAZING now what you worry about when you have a little one in your life. I know this is a common thing but when I took Avery into her Wednesday appointment I was devastated to hear that she would have to sit under bili lights for who knows how long. This first picture you can see how yellow she got and it was soooooo SAD I just cried and cried when I looked at her in that light box.

Jessica,
I am SO happy for you and Cory. Little Avery is beautiful. I am also a mom who sat and cried her eyes out watching my little one sit in the bili light box. Horrible. The only thing that made it manageable was the fact that we called Xander "fly guy" as those rotten pads and mesh "hat" smashed his face. I hope Avery was a bit more calm. Xander screamed his guts out and only stayed in it for a few hours and I was going to go nuts. Thanks goodness for the bili blanket! I hope she is doing better. I can't wait for more pictures. Best of luck!
my daughter's jaundice didnt get bad til after a week. I knew it was getting bad and took her to our midwives. Turns out our blood was incompatible and that was causing the jaundice to get worse. They thought it would be ok to do light therapy at home so we left. Then a midwife called with blood test results - her numbers were too high and we had to go to the hospital. This midwife - who I didnt like - also told me if her numbers went too high there was a risk of brain damage. WHO says that to a mom of a week old baby?! I was a hysterical mess! Turns out the doctors at the hospital were NEVER worried about brain damage, but she did need more light therapy than we could offer at home. I was a mess at the hospital too, especially when they had to keep taking blood for her bilirubin numbers. It hurt me so much that I couldn't help my baby. Luckily we were gone about 19 hours later from the hospital and she's been getting better everyday here at home! I know it's so hard to watch them go through, especially when they've only been in this world for a short while. I hope she's getting better and that there are no more worries for..oh..at least a week or so;o)
Peace
Congratulations!
I plan to have one myself!
